CLM Fleet Management has launched a driver app, called Smart Exchange, that gives drivers a choice of how they interact when making a booking for their vehicle or accessing other services.
John Lawrence, Managing Director at CLM explained: “We know that many of our drivers are keen to use mobile apps, enjoying the flexibility and convenience they bring. We also recognise that, across the range of fleet services we provide, there will be occasions when it’s more convenient or reassuring to have real human contact.
“By designing the app to give drivers the choice of online interaction or click-to-call straight through to the relevant team, we’re hoping to deliver the best of both worlds.”
The app provides drivers with a range of features including service booking, breakdown recovery, accident management, tyre and windscreen replacement and access to CLM’s bespoke vehicle rental system.
It also has secure messaging functionality that can be used to communicate important information to the driver about their vehicle.
Smart Exchange is available to all drivers of CLM-managed vehicles and doesn’t require the employing organisation to register to receive the app.
Lawrence added: “By removing the employer phase of the sign-up process, we’ve opened up the app for use by all of our drivers, not just those in large corporates that want to implement the app across their fleets.”
According to Lawrence, integration has been another key element of the design philosophy.
“We knew it was essential that the app integrated seamlessly with our online portal, Fleet Active, but we have also worked closely with our key suppliers to ensure that the driver experience is not affected when booking services through third-parties.”
The app is available to download now on both Google Play and the App Store.
