Citroen Relay “Ready to Run” range to debut at CV Show

A Citroën Relay Ready to Run Crew Cab tipper, from the 2018 Relay Ready to Run range is among the exhibits on the Citroën stand at the CV Show, which takes place at the NEC from 24-26 April 2018.

Like all models in the Relay Ready to Run range, conversions all conform to either European Whole Vehicle or National Small Series Type Approval. All Relay Ready to Run models are included in the Citroën LCV price list and carry a three year/100,000 mile warranty covering the complete vehicle.

Ready to Run Relay Tipper

2018 Citroën Relay Ready to Run tippers are based on the Relay 35 L2 Single Cab and L3 Crew Cab models. Features include bolted construction for ease of maintenance and ready adaptation using the Citroën Ready to Run options list. Steel and aluminium components are used to ensure robust construction and optimum payload.

Load securing eyes are fitted to a perimeter rail, keeping the deck clear. The front bulkhead/gantry provides a range of load securing points, including one-tonne capacity load securing eyes in the upper sections. The structure can support loads up to 400kg.

Double-skinned aluminium side boards are fitted with integrated lever lock assemblies. The tail board is supplied with full “Chapter 8” high-visibility markings.

Ready to Run tippers are fitted with underfloor, scissor-type tipping gear incorporates overload and hose burst protection. The mechanism is designed to be maintenance free for the life of the vehicle.

Citroën Relay Ready to Run tipper offers payloads* of up to 1,222kg and a load volume of 5.8m3.

Ready to Run Relay Crew Van

The very latest model from the new Relay Ready to Run range joins the Crew Cab tipper at the CV Show. The Relay 35 L3H2 Crew Van is designed to carry a driver and up to five passengers, while offering a payload (including driver) of 1,325kg. Second row seats offer individual headrests and three-point seat belts. The sliding side doors are fitted with tinted glass. Relay L3H2 Crew Van offers a maximum load floor length of 3,075mm. Prices start from £26,385 (excluding VAT, delivery, number plates, Government first registration fee and VED) for the BlueHDi 130 model with six-speed manual transmission.

Dispatch Van

Two variants of the Dispatch van, which was given its international launch at the CV Show two years ago, will be on display on the Citroën stand. Both models feature the popular Enterprise trim, which adds a range of equipment including air conditioning, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, automatic headlamps and windscreen wipers, as well as reversing sensors and cruise control with programmable speed limiter. A 7-inch touchscreen with MirrorLink®, incorporating Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto is also part of the package.

Dispatch is available in three lengths XS, M and XL. The first Dispatch on display will be the longest XL model equipped with PSA Group’s Grip Control® traction assist system, offering a choice of Standard, Snow, Mud, Sand and ESP Off (ESP is disengaged until 30mph is reached) modes from a dash-mounted control dial. The second Dispatch van is an example of the best-selling Dispatch M Enterprise, featuring medium length bodywork.

Berlingo Electric

The stand display is completed with Citroën’s LCV best-seller, the Berlingo. The display model is the zero emission Berlingo Electric L2 550 LX, offering an NEDC range of up to 106 miles on a full charge. Berlingo Electric models can be rapid charged to 80 per cent capacity in 35 minutes from a dedicated rapid charge point and are eligible for a 100 per cent discount from the London Congestion Charge and are exempt from Vehicle Excise Duty.

Citroën Relay Ready to Run range

The 2018 Citroën Relay Ready to Run range includes Box Body, Curtainside, Dropside, Luton, Low-Floor Luton and Tipper as well as the new Relay Crew Van.

Ready to Run Curtainside

The Relay Ready to Run Curtainside adds another option to the 2018 Ready to Run range. The body offers easy access to the load area from either side, while the fully-opening barn doors give access to the rear of the body. Like the Luton and Low-Floor Luton, this model also benefits from an aerodynamic Luton pod over the cab, giving additional cargo space.

The Curtainside body is available with either the Relay L3 or L4 Single cab.

The option of a lightweight aluminium framework for the body can yield up to 80kgs in additional payload. The side aperture opens up to 2,080mm on either side. Standard equipment includes an interior light and external side marker lights.

Ready to Run Relay Low-Floor Luton

The new Citroën Relay Ready to Run Low Floor Luton brings the option of a high-volume 22m3 Luton body to the range, the largest available in the Relay Ready to Run range. It also offers over a tonne of payload* with up to 1,050kgs available. Payload can be increased by around 120kg by opting for lightweight body panels.

Both body sides are equipped with load lock strips. At the rear, the standard closure is a pair of flush-fitting barn doors, with a lightweight roller shutter available as an option. Like the standard Luton body, the storage space above the cab is provided by an aerodynamic pod.

Ready to Run Box Body

The new Citroën Relay Ready to Run Box Body shares a number of construction features with the Luton and Curtainside, such as the galvanised steel frame, with a lightweight aluminium alternative that can increase payload by up to 80kgs.

The body is available with either the Citroën Relay L3 or L4 Single Cab.

Standard load restraint features include one row of load locking strip and one tie rail row. Additional rows and other options can be specified.

The Relay Ready to Run Box body is fitted with a lightweight roller shutter rear door with locking handle. Lighting equipment includes an interior light and external rear marker lights.

Ready to Run Luton

The revised Citroën Relay Ready to Run Luton range is available with either the Relay L3 or L4 Single Cab. All Relay Ready to Run Luton bodies feature an aerodynamically designed pod above the cab, offering additional storage space.

The Luton’s body panels are manufactured from high quality GRP for optimum strength, reinforced with a galvanised steel frame. A lightweight aluminium alternative offers up to 80kgs in additional payload.

A row of load locking and tie-rail track give a choice of load restraint options. Additional rows and layouts are available. The rear closure comes with a lightweight roller shutter door and locking handle.

Standard equipment includes an interior light and external marker lights.

Ready to Run Relay Dropside

Three variants of the Ready to Run Dropside are available, based on the Relay L2 Single Cab, L3 Single Cab and L3 Crew Cab. Payload* ranges from 1,253kg to 1,488kg.

The Dropside front gantry/bulkhead is similar to that fitted to the Relay Ready to Run Tipper, with a
three-level load rail lashing assembly to secure a wide variety of loads. This assembly can support loads of up to 400kg. The securing eyes in the upper extremities are rated at 1,000kg.

The side and tailboards are constructed from double-skinned aluminium and the load deck from non-slip birch plywood, top-fitted to an aluminium perimeter frame for ease of replacement. The perimeter frame also houses the 800kg capacity load securing rings.

Rear aluminium corner posts can be lifted out, while the side and tailboards can also be removed to provide a flatbed body. Equipment such as a tool trunk, folding footsteps, grab handles or a tail-lift can easily be added. A ready stock of replacement parts is available through the 24-hour parts supply from Citroën’s Midlands hub.
