The organisation achieved silver accreditation in the internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK, and were presented with the award during a ceremony at ExCeL, London earlier in the year.

The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. To achieve silver accreditation, Palletways needed to demonstrate its commitment to helping staff get home safely at the end of the working day.

The accolade follows a busy twelve months for the business, which has launched a partnership with road safety charity Brake, expanded its service offering with an evening delivery slot and grown its international presence with new operations in Hungary, Sweden, Finland and Norway.

Commenting on the award, Rob Gittins, Managing Director of Palletways UK, said: “Staff wellbeing is of upmost importance to us and we’re passionate about delivering health and safety best-practice across the business. Our team works tirelessly to ensure that we maintain the highest standards of compliance, so I’m very proud that our Lichfield hub has been recognised with this award.

“We’ll continue to make strides towards delivering health and safety excellence across all of our hubs and member depots – and I look forward to the business accepting more awards of this kind in the years to come.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Head of Qualifications, Awards and Events, added: “The RoSPA Awards have become the key fixture in the health and safety calendar with new sponsors and new awards this year including the Leisure Safety Awards, the Safe@Work Safe@Home Award and the Inspiration Awards. Highly-respected, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, RoSPA award winners benefit from the wide-ranging rewards of improved sector reputation.”
