Needing to replace an existing vehicle, Dan Teasdale, the owner of the business, approached Simon Bailey at RH Commercial Vehicles for assistance.
He said, “Keeping up with the demand of transporting very heavy goods is vital. My previous truck was a Renault, and I was very impressed with its performance. It is what made me go for the same brand again.”
On this occasion, he bought the Renault Trucks C Range T6x4 with a 13-litre E6 engine. With a GVW of 120 tonnes, it is the ideal vehicle for the nature of the business.
“This particular Renault Trucks C Range comes with a longer than normal chassis, it’s not just off the shelf it also comes with increased axle loading. This is for the Heavy Haulage sector with additional items such as fifth wheel adaptations for better and more suitable manoeuvrability assists,” said Dan.
Robustness and reliability were also keen characteristics for Dan. Delivering to construction sites with uneven terrains can become an obstacle with large loads. The vehicle has been fitted with emergency braking, anti-slip regulations, and brake balancing systems between the tractor unit and the trailer – as standard. With added extras such as the reinforced parking brake, this vehicle will have no problem countering difficult terrains and driving conditions.
Safety is a primary concern for the business, therefore the vehicle is supplied with additional strobe lighting and roof beacons to alert other road users whilst towing long and abnormal loads throughout the highways & byways. It also comes with rain sensors for auto windscreen wiping, and auto lighting. But more importantly, the truck has the driver comfort pack which includes, a 24L fridge, leather steering wheel, enhanced mattress and comfort seat which gives the driver a home-from-home feel, so they can pay more attention to the job at hand.
