REVEALED: New Seat Ibiza FR Edition
Seat have revealed the new Ibiza FR Edition.
Priced from £15,920, the new 140PS 1.4litre TSI variant spearheads Seat’s introduction of fuel-saving Active Cylinder Technology.
It is capable of 60.1mpg, offers CO2 emissions of 109g/km, and sprints 0-62mph in 7.8seconds.
The FR Edition, in addition to the usual FR specification, adds red seatbelts, red brake callipers, titanium-coloured 17inch alloy wheels, matching coloured door mirrors, climate control and dark tinted rear windows.
It is available in SC, five-door and ST body styles.
Drivers also will save £110 annually in VED compared to outgoing 150 PS 1.4litre TSI engine, after dropping into VED Band B – just £20 per year.
BIK taxation also drops from 20% to 14%.
The 1.4litre TSI engine with Active Cylinder Technology shuts off the second and third cylinders at low engine speeds and when low torque outputs are required.
It does so seamlessly, and conversely it will re-activate the cylinders in undetected fashion when more torque is required.
The transition between two and four cylinders takes less than 40milliseconds, and the system can save up to one litre of fuel more than 60miles of careful urban driving.
