FUSO Truck UK Ltd (FTUK) has officially commenced trading as the new General Distributor for FUSO products across Great Britain, taking responsibility for sales and customer services as the manufacturer enters a new phase in the UK market.

The new organisation began operations on 1 October 2026 from its headquarters at the Wentworth Park complex in Barnsley. The launch follows the announcement in September that FUSO Truck UK had been appointed as the brand’s new General Distributor for Great Britain.

Led by Chairman and Owner Sid Sadique OBE and Managing Director David Hamer, FUSO Truck UK has been established as a dedicated organisation focused exclusively on the FUSO product range and the continued development of the brand in the British commercial vehicle market.

The new distributor will work with an established nationwide Dealer network to support FUSO customers, with vehicle sales, aftersales support and long-term customer relationships forming key parts of its operation.

FUSO UK distribution changes

The transition to FUSO Truck UK has been carried out in collaboration with Daimler Truck UK and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), with continuity for existing customers, Dealers and business partners a central focus as responsibility moves to the new organisation.

The change gives FUSO a dedicated UK business structure at a time when operators are continuing to assess a range of commercial vehicle technologies, including lower-emission and zero-emission vehicles.

Sid Sadique, said: “Today marks an important milestone for FUSO Truck UK as we officially begin trading and take responsibility for the FUSO brand across Great Britain.”

David Hamer will oversee the day-to-day operation of the new business as Managing Director, working alongside Customer Service Director Katie Crawford.

Crawford brings 15 years of experience in the commercial vehicle sector, having worked for leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). In her new role, she will support the company’s day-to-day operations, while also working with the Dealer network and helping to develop customer sales and the overall customer experience.

Hamer said: “FUSO already has an established reputation for practical, dependable commercial vehicles. We now have the opportunity to build on those foundations with a business focused entirely on the brand, backed by a strong Dealer network and a team with extensive experience of the UK commercial vehicle industry.”

Focus on FUSO customers and Dealers

The creation of a dedicated distributor is intended to provide FUSO with a focused platform for its activities in Great Britain, while maintaining support for operators already using its vehicles.

For fleet and transport managers, continuity of aftersales provision, access to Dealers and ongoing manufacturer support are important considerations when making commercial vehicle purchasing and replacement decisions.

FUSO Truck UK says it will maintain a strong emphasis on customer relationships as the new organisation establishes its operations. The business will also work closely with its Dealer network as it develops its sales and support activities across the country.

Katie Crawford, Customer Service Director, FUSO Truck UK, said: “This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for FUSO in Great Britain, and we look forward to working closely with our customers, Dealers and partners as we develop the business. Our priority from day one is clear: to build a dedicated, responsive and customer-focused business that supports our Dealers and, ultimately, the operators who rely on FUSO vehicles every day.”

The approach places the Dealer network at the centre of FUSO Truck UK’s customer proposition, with the company responsible for supporting sales and customer services while working with Dealers on local customer relationships and vehicle requirements.

FUSO Canter and eCanter

FUSO Truck UK will continue to support the established FUSO Canter range, including the all-electric eCanter.

The Canter has an established position in the light-duty commercial vehicle market, while the eCanter provides an electric alternative for operators looking to introduce zero-emission vehicles into suitable urban and regional applications.

As businesses respond to changing emissions requirements and consider the role of electric commercial vehicles within their fleets, the availability of different powertrain options is becoming increasingly important.

The new UK distributor will therefore be responsible for developing the FUSO brand while supporting customers operating its existing vehicle range and responding to changing requirements across the commercial vehicle market.

New chapter for FUSO in Great Britain

The establishment of FUSO Truck UK follows wider changes to FUSO’s global business structure, including the integration of the FUSO and Hino brands under the new holding company ARCHION.

Against this backdrop, the new UK distribution structure provides FUSO with a dedicated platform from which to serve customers and develop its presence in Great Britain.

The start of trading represents a significant operational change for the brand in the UK, with FUSO Truck UK now taking direct responsibility for sales and customer services.

For existing FUSO operators, the immediate priority will be maintaining continuity while the new organisation and its Dealer relationships develop. For prospective customers, the new structure is intended to provide a dedicated point of focus for FUSO products and services.

Further announcements are expected from FUSO Truck UK, including additional details about its Dealer network and plans for the development of the business.

The launch comes as the UK commercial vehicle sector continues to evolve, with fleet operators balancing vehicle availability, operating costs, emissions requirements and payload needs. FUSO Truck UK’s dedicated structure will now form part of that changing landscape, with the Canter and eCanter providing the foundation for the brand’s next stage in Great Britain.
