Freight forwarding specialist Rhenus Logistics has announced the launch of an all-new daily international transport service between Germany and Poland. The innovative offering will be delivered in conjunction with ERKA Internationale Spedidition, the German logistics giant.
The launch of the service is the latest milestone in a fruitful relationship enjoyed by the businesses. Having first established a partnership in 2006, both Rhenus and ERKA have benefited from pooled resources and knowledge transfer, establishing strong import /export flows between Germany and the UK.
The new route also serves as testament to Rhenus’ growing daily service offering. Under the terms of the new agreement, Rhenus will offer daily transport for a range of non-perishable items such as furniture, industrial stock and chemicals. Before being transported, the goods are combined at the Rhenus facility in Wroclaw, Poland, or the ERKA business site in Stuttgart, Germany, with both businesses also organising final mile deliveries to end customers.
David Williams, managing director of Rhenus Logistics UK, commented: “Having already enjoyed a successful relationship with ERKA in the UK and the Netherlands, Rhenus was delighted to extend this partnership to Poland. Thanks to our collective expertise in the region, we can offer our customers an unparalleled daily international groupage road transport service offering.
“The Rhenus / ERKA partnership, which has been established for more than 12 years, has enabled us to offer customers across Europe an efficient and secure logistics solution. Taking advantage of both businesses’ comprehensive wholly owned networks, we are continually investing in new services – as evidenced by the opening of a new route in Poland, with the launch of a new daily service meaning we can further expand our capabilities for clients in the region.”
