HGV: Hitachi first to adopt for larger CVs
Hitachi Capital are the first fleet solutions supplier to adopt the industry standard epyx 1link Service Network platform for larger commercial vehicles.
Around 75% of Hitachi’s 27,760-strong vehicle fleet now use the e-commerce platform, with the figure set to grow further in the coming months.
The addition comes after 1link Service Network was adapted to facilitate trucks, vans and plant of more than 3.5 tonnes for the first time.
Lucy Hill, Head of Operations at Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicle Services, said the change brings about numerous benefits for customers and suppliers.
“We have been using 1link Service Network for light commercials since 2007 but we are now able to bring the strengths of using e-commerce to a much greater proportion of our fleet,” she said.
“Overall, our processes are now leaner and faster.
“For customers, we respond much more quickly to work approvals and are better placed to help them minimise downtime, which is vital as we manage a number of business critical fleets.
“For suppliers, we are able to process and pay for work much faster.
“Importantly, we are able to track our spending with a much greater degree of control and have identified substantial savings.”
1link Service Network is used by more than two million fleet vehicles to process service and maintenance buying from 17,300 franchise dealers, independent garages and fast fits.
Epyx’s 1link products improve the efficiency of fleets and their suppliers, covering functions including vehicle procurement, maintenance, hire, disposals and relicensing.
Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions offer a range of tailor-made fleet finance and fleet management services, including funding, maintenance management, accident management and daily rental management.
They have a fleet size of more than 70,000 vehicles ranging from cars, small, medium and large vans to HGVs with specialist ancillary equipment.
