SEAT UK has appointed Gemma Briggs as Product Affairs Manager with immediate effect.

Gemma joins the SEAT press team with some fourteen years of journalism experience; from Autosport to the Observer to the Guardian and the FT, Gemma can spot a typo from a mile away, and is as familiar with shorthand as she is with short shifting, making her the perfect fit for a brand with sportiness at its core.

Accomplished scribe Gemma is also a passionate PR professional, managing press relations for Bletchley Park, the once top-secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers.

Taking the helm as SEAT product affairs manager, Gemma becomes the media go-to for all things to do with SEAT’s ever-growing range of cars. The Spanish brand is embarking on one of its most ambitious product offensives yet, with the seven-seat Tarraco SUV set to join the line-up this year, hot on the heels of the award-winning Arona crossover and New Ibiza supermini.

Gemma commented: “SEAT’s a brand with a story to tell; its products are firmly in favour with the press and car buyers alike, and I’m excited to be part of the next chapter.”

Alongside Gemma’s addition to the PR team, Juliet Carrington, Head of Press and Public Relations at SEAT UK, has returned from maternity leave.

Commenting on Gemma’s appointment, Juliet said: “Gemma’s a real asset to the team; she definitely knows a thing or two about what makes a great news hook and her aptitude for words and wheels means she’ll be able to hit the ground running.”

Alongside Juliet and Gemma, Katie Mardle and Laura Margott make up the four-strong SEAT press team. As Press Fleet Manager, Katie is the keeper of keys to the very latest SEATs, while Media Relations Manager Laura continues to run the ever-busy events programme.
