POUNDS: GE Capital make big savings

Confectionary company Wrigley will save more than £1million across their company car fleet after teaming up with GE Capital.

The business are operating 35 new Ford Mondeos across their 144-strong salesforce, after a fleet review recommended switching from a three to a four-year cycle.

With the haul boosting the company’s Mondeo fleet to 160, savings of around £300,000 have been generated, with the full £1million expected by 2017.

A 20% reduction in average fleet CO2 from 147g/km to a current 117g/km has also been achieved over the last 18months.

The latest Mondeos are part of a sales expansion by Wrigley that means the fleet has now grown to a total of 240 units overall.

Simon Knight, UK Field Sales Director at Wrigley, said: “We have entered into a five year, sole supplier deal with GE and the results we have achieved so far in terms of reducing our fleet costs have been very impressive.”

Gary Killeen, Fleet Services Commercial Leader for GE Capital UK, added: “The Wrigley experience shows the excellent outcomes that can be achieved with expert fleet consultancy and a committed approach to implementation of the resulting recommendations.”
