DEBUT: Two years until Seat’s first SUV

Seat will bring their first-ever compact SUV to market in 2016, it has been revealed.

The vehicle, which is already in development at Seat’s Martorell facility, will become the latest addition to the growing segment.

Development will continue at the Seat Technical Centre, Martorell – a unique hub in southern Europe employing more than 900 engineers.

Jurgen Stackmann, Chairman of Seat, said: “This is an excellent piece of news, since it takes SEAT into a new territory, in one of the largest and fastest growing segments in the world.

“The SUV is an important pillar in the future corporate strategy and is a major step forward on the road to reaching sustainable profitability for the company.”
