PREVIEW: New iPhone app set for launch

Truckcom are making their Commercial Vehicle Show debut this year following a huge increase in smartphone uptake.

The company’s fleet management system has been designed from the ground up for smartphones, and Truckcom are celebrating the launch of their new iPhone app.

Now, 80% of all smartphones can host the software, which will be demonstrated at the company’s 12x4m stand.

Truckcom have also just launched their cloud-based office system, which enables easy online sign-up with competitive pay-as-you-go rates.

“The timing seems ideal to be exhibiting for the first time at the CV Show…we are pleased to have a large stand in a prime location.”

Pete Fishwick, Truckcom

Pete Fishwick, Office System Team Leader at Truckcom, said: “The timing seems ideal to be exhibiting for the first time at the CV Show.

“We are pleased to have a large stand in a prime location in order to promote Truckcom in a highly visible way.

“We are excited about the new system and its ease of use for our customers.”

The show will also provide the opportunity for Truckcom to launch a series of new promotional videos on large plasma screens on the stand.

These are being produced in collaboration with Newbury-based ECP Video.

Hugh Wightwick, Co-Founder at Truckcom, said: “The videos will enable us to showcase our sophisticated fleet management system in context, being filmed on site with several of our clients, including Goldstar Transport, Pryor Group and DFDS.

“Truckcom has been developed in close collaboration with our customers, and operators will always be at the heart of the system.”

This year’s CV Show takes place at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, between April 29 and May 1.

Last year’s event attracted more than 18,000 visitors, with even more expected this year.
