APPOINTED: George Nicol, of BIBA
George Nicol has been appointed the new Chairman of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association’s (BIBA) Motor Panel.
Mr Nicol, Branch Manager of Gallagher Bassett, succeeds Allan Briscoe, Technical Consultant at Aon, who has retired after chairing the committee for ten years.
He will lead the Panel, which represents the interests of BIBA members on matters relating to motor insurance.
“I consider it an absolute honour and a privilege to take up the position as the new Chairman,” said Mr Nicol.
“Having been part of the committee for nearly nine years watching us grow both in stature and reputation, I feel proud that it has become recognised as a leading voice in the market.
“The committee has been admirably chaired by Allan, whom I totally respect for both his commitment and support.
“I hope I can adequately fill his shoes in taking up the reins and continue to ensure that we represent the market’s interests with the same drive and professionalism we have become respected for.”
“I consider it an absolute honour and a privilege to take up the position.”

Mr Briscoe added: “It has been an honour and privilege to chair the Motor Panel and work with so many knowledgeable and talented people.
“All involved can be justifiably proud of what has been achieved on behalf of members and their clients and in establishing the panel as one of the foremost authorities on motor insurance issues.
“I am sure that the panel will go from strength to strength under George’s chairmanship.”
