HAUL: BEN runners raise impressive £12,000

Five dedicated runners entered this year’s London Marathon to raise awareness and funds for BEN – and came in with more than £12,000 in sponsorship.

The runners also were able to tell the cameras just what it meant to run more than 26miles for charity, with one runner, Neil Kennett, Managing Director of Featurebank, donating the production of a video to showcase the experience.

Mr Kennett said: “Producing the film was my way of saying thank you to BEN for the opportunity to take part in the largest annual fundraising event in the world.

“It captures a bit of the marathon magic and will hopefully inspire a few people (maybe you?) to take on a challenge for BEN.

“The day itself was amazing.

“I ran past Mo Farah, going the other way about 10miles ahead of me, and the supporters were just incredible, always cheering and telling me how well I was doing.

“It is humanity at its best and I am very proud to have run it for BEN.”

Kelly Neal, Events and Exhibitions Manager at BEN, added: “The Marathon is a unique event and requires a huge personal commitment, so to have people who are willing to run for BEN, and take on the task of raising funds for BEN, is phenomenal and we are truly grateful.

“Neil’s idea of producing a video was superb and has provided a tool to promote our challenge events.

“Now individuals who are considering taking on a challenge can hear from those who have completed one, showing how significant a personal achievement it can be.”
