CHIEF: John Pryor, of ACFO

John Pryor has been elected the new Chairman of the Association of Car Fleet Operators (ACFO).

Mr Pryor, Fleet and Travel Manager at the Arcadia Group, was unanimously chosen by the Association’s board to lead in 2014/15 and take over from the resigning Damien James.

Meanwhile Caroline Sandall, Fleet Manager at Barclays Bank, was unanimously elected to continue as Deputy Chairman for a further 12months.

Debbie Floyde, Group Fleet and Risk Manager at Bauer Media, was elected to replace Mr James as a Director, while Phil Redman, Fleet Manager at IBM UK, was also re-elected to the board.

Completing the six-strong ACFO board are Julie Jenner, Key Solutions Manager UK at GE Capital Fleet Services, and Richard Baird, Head of New Business Development at Marshall Leasing.

Mr Pryor said: “I am delighted to become ACFO’s chairman.

“It is vital for me and other people who have fleet responsibility to be able to discuss key issues with like-minded colleagues who collectively have a wealth of knowledge and experience.

“In organisations the job of the fleet manager can often be a lonely existence as fellow employees do not have practical knowledge or experience relating to managing vehicles.

“Therefore, ACFO fulfils a fundamental role in enabling members to exchange ideas and information.”
