Stellantis has commenced production of its cargo box electric vans, including the Citroën Relay, Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, and Vauxhall Movano. These electric vans, built on chassis cabs, are designed to provide sustainable transport solutions for businesses. They offer a range of up to 200 miles, powered by a 110kWh battery delivering 270PS. The cargo capacity is 18.3 cubic metres, with the L4 version providing an increased capacity of 20.5 cubic metres.

The primary production facility is the Atessa plant in Italy, which is capable of producing 1,200 different van configurations. This includes camper vans, facilitated through Stellantis Pro One’s ‘CustomFit’ programme, which allows for tailored designs to meet specific customer needs. The flexibility of this programme makes it a significant step forward in the commercial vehicle sector.

In addition to cargo vans, Stellantis offers electric versions of its camper vans. These vehicles come equipped with 22kW AC charging as standard, enabling a full charge in approximately six hours. This feature enhances the practicality of electric vans for both commercial and leisure purposes.

In 2024, Stellantis reported a 25% increase in van conversions by certified partners compared to the previous year. Over the past 20 years, Stellantis Pro One has sold over 2 million camper vans, with 75% of them based on the Fiat Ducato platform. This underscores the popularity and reliability of Stellantis’ van offerings.

Stellantis’ move to produce electric cargo vans marks a significant step towards sustainable commercial transport. With a focus on versatility, eco-friendly technology, and robust production capabilities, these vans are poised to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in the commercial sector.

Arnaud Leclerc, global head of Stellantis CustomFit, said: “The direct production capacity of our plants in the CustomFit sector is integrated and expanded by a global network of 550 authorized partners who interact with our official network, thus ensuring an extremely widespread network of touchpoints.

“All fittings made by our partners also enjoy the same 2-year warranty coverage as vehicles coming directly from the factory.”

In addition to the cargo box electric vans, Stellantis will also offer electric versions of its camper vans.

Leclerc said: “After all, Stellantis Pro One has sold over 2 million camper vans in the last 20 years, and 75% of the circulating segment is built on a Ducato base.

“There can be no better summary of what we do than our motto, “Fit for Mission,” as demonstrated by the BEV version.

“We are ready to launch a BEV line-up to meet the demands of our most attentive and discerning clients.”

Anne Abboud, head of Stellantis Pro One, said: “The launch of the Cargo Box BEV confirms the outstanding journey of this plant dedicated to proactively and quickly meeting the needs of our professional clients, according to the principles of efficiency, maximum quality, and time to market.
