Northgate Vehicle Hire is strengthening its support for fleet decarbonisation with a range of EV Offers, which are designed to make the transition to electric vans easier and more cost-effective for businesses.
The three tailored EV Offers are part of Northgate’s wider Drive to Zero initiative – a long-term commitment that has been helping customers for the past three years on their road to net zero. From education to implementation, Northgate supports businesses at every stage of their electrification journey, backed by its expert Drive to Zero Consultancy.
The choice of three EV Offers is currently available to new and existing customers taking an eligible electric van (eLCV) on hire through Northgate’s 12months+ product. These include:
Home Charging: Up to £1,300 off the supply and installation of a home charger. This enables drivers to charge their vehicles overnight, ensuring they start the day fully powered while benefiting from lower-cost off-peak electricity tariffs. Regular home charging also supports better long-term battery health compared to frequent use of rapid public chargers.
Workplace Charging: Up to £1,300 off the cost of charger installation at business premises. This allows fleet vehicles to be charged while parked on-site, reducing reliance on more expensive public infrastructure. Installing workplace chargers not only improves operational efficiency but also sends a strong message about a business’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) commitments.
EV Driver Training: For drivers who are new to EVs, Northgate provides free one-to-one EV Driver Training. This half-day session is designed to boost confidence and familiarity with electric vehicles, from charging processes to energy-efficient driving techniques. Drivers learn how to maximise range using strategies like regenerative braking and smooth acceleration – helping to reduce costs and extend battery life over time.
These EV Offers are designed to give businesses the flexibility to choose the right support depending on their fleet setup and electrification goals. Whether charging at home or on the road, or by helping drivers feel confident in an EV, Northgate is committed to helping customers reduce emissions and save money.
Joshua Hooper, Head of Product & Specialist Sales at Northgate Vehicle Hire, said: “Going electric isn’t just about vehicles – it’s about having the right infrastructure, knowledge and support in place. Our EV Offers are practical solutions that help businesses overcome the most common barriers to electrification. It forms a critical part of our overarching Drive to Zero initiative, allowing us to support customers at every stage of their net zero journey.”
