Dennis Eagle brings CrewSense AI technology to waste fleets
Dennis Eagle has unveiled CrewSense AI for integration across its refuse collection vehicles (RCVs), providing waste fleet operators with technology designed to improve situational awareness, reduce near-miss incidents and minimise vehicle downtime.

The UK specialist in the design and manufacture of RCVs showcased the AI-powered camera system at the Resource & Waste Management (RWM) Expo at the NEC Birmingham on 16-17 September 2026.
CrewSense AI is designed to provide real-time behavioural awareness around the rear of the vehicle, helping waste collection crews identify and address potentially unsafe actions during daily collections.
The system is fully integrated with Dennis Eagle’s Olympus body range and is currently available across Terberg OmniDEL and OmniDEKA bin lifts.
Designed specifically for the demanding waste industry environment, CrewSense AI detects operators working at the rear of an RCV and automatically responds when non-standard operating actions are identified.
The technology is intended to encourage best practice while giving crews greater awareness and confidence when working around the vehicle.

For fleet operators, CrewSense AI can capture data through the company’s Terberg Connect diagnostics tool. This enables incident reporting and supports fleet reviews, with demonstrations of the system set to become available over the coming months.
Dennis Eagle also used RWM Expo 2026 to showcase its OmniWeigh dynamic weighing system, which is designed to give operators greater visibility of the waste being collected.
OmniWeigh records the weight of individual bins and waste streams, generating information about material volumes, resident behaviour and regional trends. This data can help operators assess collection patterns, refine routes and make more informed fleet management decisions.
The system is purpose-built to integrate with Terberg and Dennis Eagle bin lifts and weighs bins 80 times in just 0.5 seconds.
Its functionality also includes overweight bin rejection and a cumulative weight feature designed to help prevent vehicles from being overloaded.

Alongside the AI and weighing technologies, Terberg Matec UK is showcasing the ORUS 11HD compact satellite RCV.
Developed against growing demand for food waste collection capacity and changes being driven by Simpler Recycling legislation, the ORUS 11HD offers a claimed payload of 7,800kg.
The vehicle features an 11m³ watertight and leakproof body, extending the ORUS range beyond its previous 5m³ to 7m³ capacity options.
The additional capacity makes the ORUS 11HD suited to applications including commercial food waste and glass collections, where operators need to carry greater volumes while retaining the compact dimensions associated with satellite collection vehicles.
