Chery has enhanced its vehicle warranty policy in the UK following a record first year in the market, with the changes reflecting feedback from customers and the brand’s rapidly expanding retailer network.

The warranty improvements form part of Chery’s customer-first approach and are designed to strengthen the ownership experience while helping private and business customers reduce long-term vehicle costs.

Among the key components now covered for seven years or 100,000 miles are the air conditioning compressor, alternator, brake callipers, catalytic converter, infotainment unit, exhaust system, fuel injectors, fuel pump, oil pump, shock absorbers, starter motor, track rod ends, water pump, wheel bearings and electric window regulators.

These components were previously covered for three years or 40,000 miles.

Chery has also extended warranty cover for all bushes and rubber components from three years or 40,000 miles to seven years or 60,000 miles. Cover for ball joints has increased from three years or 40,000 miles to seven years or 60,000 miles.

The changes are effective immediately across all new Chery models. Importantly, the enhanced warranty is also being applied retrospectively to every Chery vehicle sold in the UK to date.

Customers do not need to take any action to benefit from the improvements, with the updated warranty terms applying automatically.

Farrel Hsu, Managing Director, CHERY UK, said: “Over the past year, we have established a solid foundation in the UK, from our compelling range of TIGGO SUVs to our comprehensive retailer network. As we continue to grow and invest in the UK, our priority remains the same: making safe, advanced, efficient vehicles more accessible to modern families, and offering an outstanding ownership experience. The enhancements we’ve made to our vehicle warranty are an integral part of that, and reflect our commitment to always putting our customers first.”

Chery expands UK presence

Chery has established itself in the UK in less than a year, with the brand’s TIGGO 8 becoming the country’s best-selling seven-seater in June. The manufacturer also reached a 2% market share in July and has now opened more than 85 retailers, with ambitions to increase this to 120 by the autumn.

The manufacturer currently offers four models in the UK: the TIGGO 4, TIGGO 7, TIGGO 8 and TIGGO 9. All are available with Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) plug-in hybrid powertrains, combining electric driving for everyday journeys with the flexibility of a petrol engine for longer trips.

The expanded warranty could give Chery an additional advantage as it continues to build its reputation in the UK market, particularly among fleet and business users where predictable ownership costs and warranty support can influence vehicle purchasing decisions.

Chery is also seeking to encourage uptake of its CSH plug-in hybrid technology by offering 0% finance across the TIGGO 7, TIGGO 8 and TIGGO 9 CSH models throughout August 2026*.

The combination of extended warranty protection, an expanding UK retailer network and a growing range of hybrid SUVs underlines Chery’s ambitions to establish itself as a significant player in the UK new vehicle market.
