International fleet management and vehicle leasing company sgfleet has joined charity Hope For Justice in their on-going campaign to end exploitation and modern slavery. To help them with their exceptionally important work, sgfleet has provided the Hope For Justice team with a vehicle at absolutely no cost.
For the last ten years, specialist investigators, outreach workers and frontline teams from Hope For Justice have identified and rescued more than 650 people from modern slavery in the UK. Thanks to the extra vehicle, they will now be able to reach new locations as soon as a request for help comes in.
Chris Salmon, Commercial Director of sgfleet UK, explained: “sgfleet is absolutely committed to working with local partners and charities, and by providing this vehicle we will be supporting Hope For Justice to reach more people trapped in exploitation and help change their lives for the better.”
Janet Fisher, acting UK Programme Director at Hope for Justice, said: “We are thrilled that sgfleet is so generously assisting us by providing this vehicle to our outreach workers. It’s going to make a big difference to how many vulnerable and exploited people we can reach out to in the community.
It’s no exaggeration to say that lives could truly be changed thanks to this gesture. Being mobile and able to respond quickly to requests for help or to referrals about potential victims is absolutely key to what we do, so the use of this car will be a big boost for our Outreach team.”
Hope for Justice is an anti-trafficking charity, working across four continents to bring an end to modern slavery by preventing exploitation, rescuing victims, restoring lives and reforming society.
Their team of caseworkers and legal experts then work with survivors to ensure they get the opportunities they need to live new lives in freedom, including help to access housing, employment skills, physical and mental health support, English language skills, and guidance through the criminal and civil justice systems.
