Alpine’s A110 has won the coveted Sports Car of the Year title in the annual BBC TopGear Magazine Awards. The success comes hot on the heels of the Performance Car of the Year title that the Alpine A110 won in the same magazine’s Speed Week feature in October.

Continuing a run of major awards and accolades, the Alpine A110 is featured in the January issue of BBC TopGear Magazine. On sale now, the magazine selects its annual award winners from the best new cars of 2018.

Talking about the Alpine A110 Charlie Turner, Editor-in-Chief of BBC TopGear Magazine, said: “From the way it looks to the way it drives, the A110 unites us in a way that very few cars have this year. We’re in awe of its poise and balance, admire its precision and delicacy, and appreciate its design and engineering. A triumph of fun over speed, of engineering over brute force.”

Sébastien Erphelin, Alpine Managing Director, said: “It’s fantastic to win the Sports Car of the Year Award from BBC TopGear Magazine. It’s exciting for us here at Alpine to see the enthusiasm that the magazine’s editorial team has for the A110. It shows that the car we have built, and which is enjoyed so much by our customers, meets the exact brief set when we started designing it.”

The Alpine brand was resurrected with the stated aim of building a performance-focused two-seater sports car that draws styling parallels with the famed Alpine’s of the 1960s and 1970s. The A110 is the result and the initial Première Edition of the car was limited to 1,955 units. These were all reserved within five days of going on sale. The A110 is now available in two trims; A110 Pure and the A110 Légende.

The January 2019 issue of TopGear magazine is on sale now.
