Farizon, the commercial vehicle division of Geely (China’s largest private car manufacturer), was established in 2016. The brand has led the Chinese market with its focus on technology, users, and zero emissions. The SV panel van marks Farizon’s UK debut, distributed by Jameel Motors, a leading mobility solutions provider.

Built on the bespoke GXA-M platform, the SV is the world’s first production van with a drive-by-wire intelligent architecture. This modular platform offers five size configurations (L1 H1, L1 H2, L2 H2, L2 H3, and L3 H3) and an extra-low loading height of just 550 mm. Designed for the demands of European users, the van underwent over one million kilometres of global testing, including in the UK, Norway, Australia, and the Middle East.

The SV is also environmentally conscious, with 10% recycled materials in its construction. At end-of-life, 85% of its materials are recyclable and 95% are recoverable.

Cutting-Edge Drive-By-Wire Technology

The SV is the first van with a dual-redundancy drive-by-wire system, improving response times, energy recovery, and safety. Compared to conventional setups, it offers:

  • 5% greater range
  • 10% shorter stopping distances
  • Three times faster steering response
  • Ten times more precise steering control

This design allows for easy adaptation of wheelbase, suspension, and steering, making the SV versatile for different commercial needs. The chassis and body incorporate high-strength steel and hybrid aluminium-steel materials, reducing weight by 8% for improved payload capacity and efficiency.

Battery Technology and Performance

Farizon integrates cell-to-pack (CTP) battery technology, directly linking cells to the battery pack for:

  • 10% increased capacity
  • 4% weight reduction
  • 20% improved body rigidity
  • Lower centre of gravity for enhanced stability

Three battery options are available: 67 kWh and 83 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP), plus a 106 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery for high-mileage users. Fast-charging (up to 140 kW) enables a 20-80% charge in just 36 minutes.

Range and Power:

  • WLTP range: Up to 342 miles (city), 247 miles (combined)
  • Motor power: 170 kW (231 PS), 336 Nm torque
  • 0-62 mph: 12 seconds, Top speed: 83 mph

The 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) function allows tools to be powered from the van’s battery via three UK-standard plug sockets.

Optimised Cargo and Driving Experience

The SV boasts the highest load capacity in its class, up to 20% greater than competitors. Configurations range from 6.95 m³ to 13 m³ cargo volume, with payloads between 1,035 kg and 1,350 kg depending on the battery.

A payload monitoring system helps ensure compliance with weight regulations, and all models feature an extra-low 550 mm loading height. No B-pillar on the nearside allows easier access, while rear doors open 180° (270° optional) for convenience in tight spaces.

Passenger Vehicle-Like Comfort

The SV’s suspension system includes a dual wishbone front setup, a world-first on an electric van, with rear leaf springs for improved stability. A novel wheel design reduces unsprung weight, enhancing handling.

The steering system ensures tight turns, with a 12.2m turning circle (L1) and 14.8m (L3). Adjustable steering assistance varies from light (Comfort Mode) to firm (Sport Mode) for better high-speed control.

The electro-hydraulic brake-by-wire (EHB) system:

  • Saves 4 kg in weight
  • Stops 62-0 mph in 39m (class average: 45m)
  • Enhances brake energy recovery (0.3g max), boosting range by 5%

Drivers can select from three brake energy regeneration levels, including one-pedal driving.

Advanced Interior & Safety Features

The cabin is designed for comfort and practicality, with heated and ventilated seats for the driver and main passenger. A column-mounted gear selector frees up space, while an 82° door opening makes ingress easier. Storage includes multiple door cubbies, cup holders, and USB ports.

Technology Highlights:

  • 7-inch digital driver display
  • 12.3-inch floating touchscreen (Apple CarPlay, navigation, and media)
  • Physical buttons for key functions to reduce driver distraction
  • 360° surround view and driver monitoring system
  • Intelligent cruise control and traffic sign recognition

Safety Features:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) & Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC)
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) & Lane Keep Assist (LKA)
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) & Speed Limit Reminder (SLR)
  • Electronic Stability Program (ESP) & Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPMS)
  • Full-size spare wheel

The SV has earned a Euro NCAP Platinum rating, making it one of Europe’s safest vans. Over 30 crash tests were conducted, exceeding EU standards.

With its blend of cutting-edge technology, superior efficiency, and driver-friendly design, the Farizon SV sets a new standard in the UK electric van market. Available now, it provides an ideal solution for businesses looking to maximise efficiency, reduce running costs, and embrace sustainable transport solutions.

Tom Carney, Managing Director, Jameel Motors UK said: “We already knew that the Farizon SV would be a unique product in this competitive segment, and now we know it will be ultra-competitive on price and significantly exceed expectations for standard specification, too.

“Not only is the list of standard features impressive, the SV also includes features that aren’t available at all on competitor models, like the weight monitoring system. That explains why we are seeing such excitement and interest in the SV from fleets large and small.”

He went onto say that they understood that uptime was vital for business owners which is why they offer a 4-year warranty on parts with an 8-year warranty on the battery.

Support will initially be sourced from the dealer network, but they have also negotiated AA backup for when dealer support is not immediately possible. They have also invested heavily in parts stock so repairs are actioned as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Herve Bertrand, Vice President of Design for Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, said they had engineered the van from the ground up following extensive research and feedback from drivers and operators. Cargo access is everything and with the widest side entry currently available, “… gives access to the interior capable of loading a piano!”

He continued; “We wanted to keep the van as simple as possible for the driver and operators making the vehicle potentially easy to update and to provide the best quality using as much recyclable materials as possible.”
