CFS Service, Maintenance and Repair Facility

Cartwright’s rapidly expanding Fleet Services Division is launching a new state of the art maintenance, repair and refurbishment facility
at the company’s South Manchester site.

The launch of the Wythenshawe centre marks the first of a number of strategically planned workshop and refurbishment facilities throughout the UK which will complement the company’s nationwide fleet of 22 mobile vans.

Initially a staff of about 20 employees will be employed at the site, comprising a mix of maintenance technicians, double deck trailer specialists, bodywork repairers and vehicle sprayers and painters.

This new dedicated maintenance, repair and refurbishment operation is supported by a strong third party national network of over 142 service providers. Its unique structure utilises a tiered approach with more than 70 network suppliers handling the main volumes and forming the strategic backbone of the network. Incorporated within the CFS network is a specialist group of about 35 experienced double deck trailer repairers all of whom have undergone specialist training at Cartwright’s manufacturing centre at Altrincham.

The new CFS company owned site, which was formerly used for trailer storage, includes a six bay maintenance facility, dedicated paint booth which can accommodate all types of vehicles and trailers including double deck trailers. High calibre maintenance technicians are on site to carry out all maintenance repair/refurbishment requirements including PMI, MOT, Deck Service, LOLER and weight testing – all under the CFS service umbrella providing a unique one stop shop for all customer fleet maintenance requirements.

Lawrence Todd, Fleet Director of Cartwright Fleet Services commented: “Our growing portfolio of national customers now enjoy the benefits of our provision of dedicated services for planning and compliance, maintenance scheduling, VOR management and E compliance through a dedicated web portal. The portal provides a detailed daily dashboard offering a real time view of a customer’s fleet status together with documentation for compliance and maintenance expenditure.”

Lawrence Todd added that Cartwright Fleet Services would also be launching a new parts distribution operation in the near future, following the launch of the new maintenance facility.
