Michelin Solutions debut ‘revolutionary’ EFFIFUEL product

Newly-formed Michelin Solutions have revealed their ‘revolutionary’ new EFFIFUEL offering, which aims to help truck, bus and coach fleets cut fuel consumption by more than 5%.
The solution, which was officially launched at the Commercial Vehicle Show today, sees a team of fuel analyst experts – from partners Accenture, TyreCheck and Worldline – implement eco-driver training, onboard telematics fitment and tyre management optimisation across the fleet in question.
Analysts will study data on the influences of fuel consumption, while also optimising tyre management through pence-per-kilometre pricing.
This is combined with a fitment strategy aimed at boosting fuel economy.
EFFIFUEL is geared at meeting a projected fuel consumption savings target over a period of up to four years, with reimbursement on a pro-rata basis provided if these targets are not achieved.
The solution, which is being rolled out across ten European countries, is the first available in the fleet market that utilises a fixed contactural agreement.
Paul Davey, Commercial Director of Michelin Solutions in the UK and Ireland, said that the solution is a ground-breaking one, since truck and coach fleets splash out approximately 30% of their expenditure on fuel.
“We are very excited about the impact EFFIFUEL could have on fleets,” he said.
“It really is a revolutionary product and has the potential to be a game-changer.”
