INTENSE: Course to beat September 10 deadline

Intensive Driver CPC courses are being offered by the Freight Transport Association (FTA), with just three months left until the September deadline.

Passenger carrying vehicle (PCV) operators have until September 10 to make sure their professional drivers complete the mandatory 35 hours of approved Driver CPC training.

FTA, a leading provider, have therefore organised three intensive courses for operators running short of time, enabling all the necessary training to be completed in just five days.

Three courses are available: Reigate (July 22-26); Leamington Spa (July 29-August 2); and Hemel Hempstead (August 27-August 30).

Subjects covered include drivers’ hours, working time and record keeping; vehicle safety; and road legal, driving values and safety first.

FTA warned in March there will be no last-minute reprieve for those who fail to complete the training in time.

They emphasised that Traffic Commissioners will take action against vocational drivers and the operators who allow them to drive illegally.
