ROADSHOW: FTA conferences to host VOSA

Fleet operators will be kept up-to-date with the latest information from the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) when they attend the 2013 Freight Transport Association’s (FTA) Transport Manager conferences.

Included within the VOSA address will be the subject of the organisation’s proposals for ‘new ways of working with the industry’, and how transport managers can apply best practice in order to avoid becoming targets of enforcement.

The 13 conferences this year, sponsored by Goodyear, Blue Tree Systems and Volvo, will run from September 11, at Brands Hatch, through to December 4, in Birmingham.

A key aim is to keep transport managers ‘ahead of the game’ by providing them with all the latest information and key issues to ensure they are up-to-date.

Goodyear will be reporting on their recent Transport Manager Survey, outlining the role within the road freight sector and providing a better understanding of challenges faced on a day-to-day basis.

Adam Stanton, Commercial Marketing Manager at Goodyear, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the FTA Transport Manager series for the third year in a row.

“With the series focusing on delivering safe, sustainable and efficient logistics it is the perfect opportunity for us to show how Goodyear helps fleets to deliver in these three areas.

“We are also using the events to highlight how tyres can help to not only improve the efficiency of fleets in terms of fuel usage and environmental impact, but also assist in delivering a reduction in operational cost.”

Conference attendees will also be given the opportunity to take part in an interactive quiz session compiled by FTA’s Member Advice Centre (MAC), which will focus on compliance issues faced by transport managers on a daily basis.

FTA policy experts will also be on hand to deliver essential updates providing delegates with guidance and best practice advice surrounding future legislation and enforcement changes.

More information, including prices, venues and dates, along with how to book a place can be obtained by calling the FTA Member Service Centre on 08717 112222.
