IDEAL: Turismo is ‘without competition’

SsangYong’s new Turismo MPV is ‘ideal for business’ and ‘without competition’, according to the South Korean manufacturer.

Priced from £17,995, the newly-launched car is more than five metres long, with a three metre wheelbase – providing room for up to seven passengers and 3,146litres of load space.

The new design – which ‘delivers space, comfort and luxury’ – makes the Turismo larger than a standard MPV without breaching van-derived people-carrier territory.

It is powered by SsangYong’s 2.0litre turbo-charged 155PS e-XDi diesel engine, with a choice of six-speed manual transmission and five-speed Mercedes-Benz T-Tronic automatic transmission.

The vehicle comes in three available models: the standard 2.0 S, the £21,495 2.0 ES and the £23,995 2.0 EX, the latter of which has a 2.5tonne towing capability.

Multi-link rear suspension is designed to deliver executive saloon-style ride and handling, while 4×4 comes as standard on the EX model.

Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK, said: “There really is nothing like it in the market.

“With key features being its innovative and flexible design layout, luxurious interior and highly competitive pricing, the new Turismo is a compelling proposition.

“Not only do you get a lot of car for the money, you also have the reassurance of an industry-leading five-year limitless mileage warranty for complete peace of mind.”

Standard features on the Turismo include air conditioning, electric, heated door mirrors, leather covered steering wheel and gear knob, and an MP3 CD & RDS radio with USB and Bluetooth.

The Turismo is now available to order from more than 50 SsangYong dealers across the UK.

It is available in five exterior colours: Wine Black, Black, Gunmetal Grey, Silver and White.
