RAC appoints Nick Walker, former Masternaut managing director

RAC has made a strong commitment to its telematics business with the appointment of managing director Nick Walker, who will be joining the organisation to spearhead growth in the technology in 2015.

In a career that includes 28 years working in mainland Europe and the USA, Nick brings with him a wealth of experience in growing and developing fast-paced, complex, technology businesses including telematics, telecoms and dot.coms.

Nick’s new role as telematics managing director bolsters RAC’s talented team, as he takes the lead on driving future growth for the business through innovative product development, sales, and the delivery of customer-focussed solutions.

Speaking about his new role, Nick said: “There is a fantastic opportunity to drive the telematics proposition at the RAC, because there are so many synergies where telematics makes complete sense.

“It’s important not to see telematics just as a stand-alone product, but as a technology that sits behind a whole range of services we offer, and that makes it a much more powerful offering. I genuinely think we have the opportunity here at the RAC to be game changing in the area of telematics.

“Nick’s appointment is a huge step towards establishing RAC in a leading position in the telematics market in 2015.”
