Avoid parking woes at the seaside this Bank Holiday

Motorists heading towards the seaside this Bank Holiday could pay five times as much for their car parking if they don’t shop around in advance.

The advice from YourParkingSpace.co.uk follows research which shows that traditional parking in some seaside resorts has risen to eye-watering levels.

In Brighton for instance, those not savvy enough to use YourParkingSpace.co.uk could end up paying £30 for their parking this Bank Holiday instead of just £6 via YourParkingSpace, a massive saving of £24 for just one day.

Just along the coast in hugely popular Bournemouth the story is very similar.

Booking in advance through YourParkingSpace.co.uk can cost from as little as £6.25 for a full day’s parking from 9am to 5pm.

However, those opting for traditional parking could only get three hours parking for £6, resulting in a very quick walk along the promenade, fish and chips and wade in the sea before returning home!

In nearby Weymouth, day trippers can also pay as little as £6.25 with YourParkingSpace.co.uk but as much as £15 for a full day in a traditional car park.

Heading up the East Coast and the scenario is much the same.

Visitors enjoying the sights and sounds of Great Yarmouth could pay as little as £3.75 by shopping around beforehand with YourParkingSpace, but could pay double that at £7.50 by turning up on the day.

Meanwhile a popular day-trip for many Londoners to nearby Southend-on-Sea could also be a costly experience without some forethought.

Those doing a quick on-line search could find a whole day’s parking for just £6.25 but be forced to cough up £12 if opting for a traditional car park on the day.

Harrison Woods, managing director at YourParkingSpace.co.uk, said: “Shopping around beforehand can massively reduce the cost of parking in seaside resorts this Bank Holiday, plus there is the reassurance of knowing that the parking space is reserved, avoiding the headache of driving around looking for an empty space.”
