SNOW: 4×4 searches rocket

Searches for 4×4 vehicles on Motors.co.uk rocketed by 32% in November compared to the September average, figures have shown.

The interest, attributed to the forecasted cold winter, was particularly high for the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Motors.co.uk’s top ten 4×4 queries also featured the Nissan Qashqai, Mercedes Benz M Class, Mitsubishi L200, Land Rover Freelander 2, Freelander, Defender and Discovery.

Andy Coulthurst, Managing Director at Motors.co.uk, said: “We traditionally see an increase in searches for 4×4 vehicles in November and this year is no exception.

“As the Met Office issues bad weather warnings, people look to change their cars for more suitable bad weather vehicles and this is great news for dealers across the country.

“However, due to this high demand, the market is likely to see pressure on prices, with high values secured for good quality used stock and increased competition over the best vehicles.

“Savvy dealers will be scouring the wholesale sector now to pick up the best deals to retail later in the month.”
