REVEALED: New generation Mini Hatch

The new Mini Hatch has been revealed.

Priced from £15,300 and set to launch next spring, the vehicle will debut new ‘groundbreaking’ three-cylinder engines and state-of-the-art connectivity technology.

It is available with a choice of three new engines, with fuel consumption and emission levels reduced by as much as 27% when compared to the predecessor.

The Hatch has a three-cylinder 134bhp petrol engine, with the S Hatch powered by a 189bhp four-cylinder petrol and the D Hatch by a three-cylinder 114bhp diesel.

Fleet-friendliest is the latter, with a fuel economy of 80.7mpg and CO2 emissions of 98g/km.

A six-speed manual transmission is standard, with six-speed automatic and six-speed sports automatic both optional.

Standard specification includes electrically-adjustable exterior mirrors, air-conditioning, door sill cover strips with a model-specific inscription, front fog lamps, onboard computer, Mini Radio, USB and Bluetooth.

Further options include automatic air-conditioning, heated front seats, panoramic glass roof, visibility package, rain sensor and automatic light control, Harman Kardon hi-fi and sports leather steering wheel.

Longer, wider and taller than the outgoing version, the new Mini Hatch will also offer a choice of five new exterior colours.

Boot volume has been increased by 30% to 211litres.
