Ford are adding a Titanium X Sport model to the new Kuga range.

The all-wheel-drive addition – which becomes Ford’s highest-specified SUV yet – will hit showrooms priced at £28,345 and can be paired with 1.6litre EcoBoost or 2.0litre TDCi petrol engines.

Standard equipment includes body styling kit, 19inch alloy wheels, silver roof rails, rear-view camera, DAB, satellite navigation, Active Park Assist and privacy glass.

The latest-generation Kuga arrived in dealerships last March, and has since enjoyed a sales increase of more than 40%.

Styling, safety and convenience options on the Kuga include the hands-free tailgate – the first to be offered on a medium-sized SUV in Europe.

“Our hands-free tailgate is an ingenious solution to make everyday lives easier.”

Mark Ovenden, Ford

The £350 feature, chosen by one in five Kuga customers, enables drivers to open the boot by a gentle kicking motion under the rear bumper.

Active Park Assist and Active City Stop are also featured in the Kuga range.

Mark Ovenden, Chairman and Managing Director of Ford of Britain, said: “Everyone has approached their car with their hands full and wished there was some magical way of opening the boot without having to put the load down first.

“Our hands-free tailgate is an ingenious solution to make everyday lives easier, and one tailored for our new top-end Ford Kuga customers as the majority have chosen it.”
