CDX set for massive growth in 2018

The UK’s largest motor trade conference and expo — will move to Manchester in 2018 after a final record-breaking year at Silverstone.

More than 2,500 attended yesterday’s event alongside more than 100 exhibitors, pushing the venue to full capacity.

As a result, next year’s event will be held at Manchester Central, one of the country’s biggest purpose-built event venues.

The event, which will remain free to attend for car dealers, will also be extended across two days – May 21 and 22 – giving delegates more chance to take in all the attractions of what will be an action-packed programme.

James Baggott, CEO of Baize Group, the company behind both CDX and Car Dealer Magazine, said: “CDX has gone from strength to strength during its three years based in Silverstone.

“This year though we comfortably reached the venue’s maximum capacity and we need more space to be able to grow further.

“Manchester Central is a fantastic venue, with amazing transport links, that will allow us to take the event to the next level.”

He added: “There was also huge demand from delegates for the many workshops and seminars at this year’s event but the tight timings meant they had to pick and choose which they attended.

“Next year, by adding a second day, delegates will be able to make the most of the event and take the learnings back to their businesses.”
