BCA launch new overnight ‘5 to 9’ convenience store

FIRST: Auctions will now take place overnight

British Car Auctions’ (BCA) new overnight digital sales programme – a first for the remarketing sector – is now open.

‘BCA 9 to 5’ features vehicles selected daily from the company’s 19 remarketing centres nationwide and offered exclusively in an overnight online sale via their website.

Sales start at 5pm every day, giving buyers the opportunity to review and buy vehicles at their leisure, with the sale closing at 9am the following morning.

All vehicles on ‘BCA 5 to 9’ are offered with a fixed price and a simple ‘click to buy’ process.

BCA data shows most professional buyers research the stock they want to buy via BCA Auction View in the evening.

This means that the new ‘5 to 9’ platform means they can buy as they browse.

The new digital sales platform dovetails with BCA’s existing programme of physical, Live Online, Bid Now, Buy Now and e-Auction sales.

This means buyers at BCA can fulfil their sourcing requirements across a range of remarketing platforms at a time that suits their needs.

BCA have signed up 25 major vendors to the ‘5 to 9’ sales programme, with new seller customers being added daily; ensuring a constant supply of fresh stock.

The auctioneers will offer several hundred vehicles in each overnight ‘5 to 9’ sale, with a high turnover of stock and including vehicles fresh to the market.

BCA claim they will work closely with sellers to ensure vehicles entered in the programme are valued realistically to sell.

Simon Henstock, UK Operations Director of BCA, said: “Sourcing good retail stock has been a real challenge for professional buyers in recent months and anecdotally many dealers have told us they have struggled to maintain an adequate supply of vehicles to meet the needs of their retail customers.

“With the signs of economic recovery now having a very positive effect on both new and used car sales, dealers will welcome this access to a fresh supply of good quality, attractive stock on a daily basis.

“Our customers tell us they want to buy and sell used vehicles online 24/7, 365days-a-year to gain an edge in an increasingly competitive marketplace and ‘BCA 5 to 9’ is another innovative way that we are making it easier for our customers to do just that.”
