Dennis Publishing is delighted to announce that the evo Film Team has won Best Journalism Film and Best Commercial Film at this year’s London Motor Film Festival.

The Festival is held to recognise and celebrate the craft of automotive media. The inaugural event was held in 2014, with this year’s event building on last year’s success to become a must-attend night in the calendar for the whole automotive industry.

Up against some tough competition in the form of high budget films from Bentley, Land Rover and Ford, evo’s film for Vauxhall told the story of 50 years of the brand’s production at Ellesmere Port with a simple but engaging narrative that followed a fictional worker as he grows up with the factory.

Geoff Love, Publishing Director of evo said: “The evo team led by Nick Trott with Sam Riley as the key film maker have some tremendous creative, production, and presenting talent in the team. They have been producing great video on You Tube for a number of years and this recognition is just reward for the efforts required to deliver great films.”

Nick Trott, Editor of evo said: “It was a very satisfying film to work on. We combined great storytelling with high-production values, dramatic driving, beautiful editing and a great soundtrack – the same elements that we bring to our editorial films. It’s a real pleasure to work with a brand like Vauxhall, who took a chance on this film and supported it through to completion – and even allowed us to carry out stunts inside the factory. Not only that, it was great to be able to thank everyone who has worked at Ellesmere Port for 50–years. In many ways, it’s their film.”
