One of the UK’s leading motor retail groups has underlined its confidence in Renault and Dacia by investing heavily to develop a new flagship showroom for the brands in Kent.

Motorline Group invested £3.5 million into the redevelopment of its existing site in Bircholt Road, Maidstone – creating a striking state-of-the-art outlet that showcases the very best of both marques.

The rapidly expanding group also operates thriving Renault and Dacia franchises in nearby Ashford and Canterbury. And its investment in a new ‘gold standard’ showroom, demonstrates its faith in the brands’ bright futures.

Gary Obee, Managing Director of Motorline Renault, said: “Both Renault and Dacia are brands on the rise with outstanding consumer appeal and model line-ups that are getting stronger and stronger.  We are extremely pleased with the new showroom. It’s an inviting and engaging place and it looks fantastic.

“As a group we strive to have the best dealerships in the country. We have high standards for our facilities and the people we employ and we are pleased to have delivered such an impressive facility for the people of this area”, added Obee.

Welcoming the opening of the new-look dealership, Darren Payne, Sales Director, Renault Group UK, said: “We’re thrilled that one of our long-standing and valued dealer partners shares our vision for the future of the Renault and Dacia brands and has demonstrated its faith in the our plans for growth with an investment of this kind.

“The new showroom is an amazing facility and ensures our customers in the area will enjoy an overall experience that’s more than a match for anything they’ll find elsewhere.”

Renault Group sales – comprising of Renault cars, vans and Dacia – were up 15.2 per cent to 62,476 vehicles in the first six months of 2015 according to the latest SMMT figures. Of that total, Renault car sales for the first six months of this year represented 36,840 vehicles (up 14.9 per cent), Renault van sales stood at 11,169 (up 21.4 per cent) and Dacia 14,465 vehicles (up 11.5 per cent).

And the growth looks set to continue as the Group enters new market segments in the coming months and launches exciting new models like the much-anticipated Renault Kadjar crossover.

It’s hardly surprising then that a total of 13 new retail partners have joined the Renault and Dacia franchise over the past 12 months – helping Renault Group in the UK meet the objectives set out in its GO5+ strategy for sustainable growth.

Established in 1972, Motorline joined the Renault Group in 1993 and the partnership has proved extremely successful. The new Maidstone showroom is part of a larger development that has seen the Bircholt Road area, in Parkwood, transformed to make it a motor trade destination, with many of Motorline’s other franchises nearby.

Employing 22 people, it is one of the first in the country to offer the Renault Store retail concept, which sees the showroom divided into themed zones and features interactive displays to improve the overall customer experience.

Outside there’s ample customer parking and a forecourt stocked with more than 60 quality-assured pre-owned cars. A Renault Pro+ specialist centre is dedicated to business customers, offering expert advice and knowledge.

Meanwhile, the dealership can offer the highest standards of aftersales care and vehicle maintenance through its new workshop equipped with the latest Renault and Dacia diagnostic equipment and led by manufacturer-trained master technicians. There is also a Class 4 and 7 MOT testing centre.
