FIRST: Suzuki SX4 S-Cross starts at £14,999

Suzuki’s new fleet-orientated SX4 S-Cross will go on sale on October 1, priced from £14,999.

Unveiled earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, the vehicle offers fleet-friendly fuel consumption and emissions, and boasts the world’s first double-sliding panoramic glass sunroof.

The car is available with either 1.6litre petrol or 1.6litre DDiS engines, with the latter’s two-wheel drive version emitting just 110g/km of CO2 and achieving 67.2mpg.

Sport-styled, the SX4 S-Cross is available in four grades – SZ3, SZ4, SZ-T and SZ5 – with all equipped with seven airbags and ESP as standard.

Suzuki’s first-ever ‘C’ segment crossover model also flaunts next-generation four-wheel-drive technology with the acclaimed handling of the Swift, and luggage capacity of 430litres.

The four-wheel-drive system has four driver-selectable modes – auto, sport, snow and lock – which change the vehicle’s dynamics to suit road and driving conditions.

Dale Wyatt, Sales and Marketing Director of Suzuki UK, told headlineauto: “The S-Cross will allow us to focus more on fleet and to generate an increase in sales of around 20% over the next couple of years.

“The crossover segment has become important as customers are looking for the versatility of an MPV but want the less boxy looks of something like a people carrier.

“If you put your purchase on a matrix, the SX4 really does tick all the boxes on space, performance, price emissions and safety, we are confident of getting a 5-star NCAP rating which is better than the outgoing model.”

Available in eight exterior colours, including Crystal Lime Metallic, the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross is priced between £14,999 and £23,549.
