INSPIRING: FTA launch Everywoman awards

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) are hailing the successes of women within the haulage industry after launching the Everywoman Transport and Logistics Awards 2014.

Designed to acknowledge the achievements of women in the transport and logistics sector, the awards are now in their seventh year.

The FTA have supported Everywoman and their initiatives since 2008, including the Transport and Logistics Leadership Academy and the Accelerate Programme.

Theo de Pencier, Chief Executive of the FTA, said: “FTA is delighted to encourage forward thinking companies that are in turn committed to encouraging diversity in the freight industry.

“The FTA Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards celebrate women working within the transport and logistics industry who are enjoying success and will ultimately inspire others to join the sector, and FTA is once again proud to be the title partner of the Awards.

“The key for the freight and transport industry is to be able to access a wider talent pool to be able to meet its need for good quality staff in whichever role it needs to fill.

“We have to reach out to all parts of the community and, in particular, to women, to recruit and retain the best and to enable all of our organisations and businesses to flourish.”

The 2014 FTA Everywoman Transport and Logistics Award categories encompass both passenger and commercial transport.

Categories for awards are:

  • Rising Star of the Year
